Hey, so, if you follow me, I have three really simple requests for you this month.
Please, please, please:
-DON’T “light it up blue”
-DON’T buy anything with a fucking puzzle piece on it
-DON’T donate to Autism Speaks.
April, as you might know, is Autism Awareness month. If you want to help, I’d urge you to follow Autism Acceptance Day, check out & donate to ASAN, and educate yourself on what the Autistic community is and looks like. Hint: we’re people, not puzzles.
And then I debated whether or not to put it on Tumblr…but I decided it was important. Because in my own way, I can (unfortunately) point out exactly what is wrong with men when they don’t realize how hard it is to be a woman. How we do not have equal opportunities and freedoms in…
I haven’t reblogged in a while, but this one needed to be shared. This is what women have to deal with every damn day. When I used to use public transit, it was a regular occurrence for guys to hit on me and then get pissed off when I wasn’t interested. Nothing this extreme ever happened to me, thankfully. Please read and share. Thanks.
Apparently I really like watching damp, skinny Scottish men get undressed. The things that turn me on never fail to amuse and confuse me.
Be still my heart. *swoon*

Hullo everyone,
Bunny Bennett here!
I talked to quite a few people at Youmacon this past weekend, and a common theme seems to be: Steam Powered Giraffe must be finicky about where they play. But the truth is we’ll play any convention if you can fly us out there. We’ve had much success in our…
Just come back to Michigan. You can come in April and stay at my house. We’ll have a spring concert in my backyard. You know you wanna.

I was so happy David got to join us for dinner Sunday evening before we headed home. This is surprisingly the only picture I took at the convention (unless you count the poor-lit one I sent Erin of someone dressed as Upgrade).
David is a cameraman at Youmacon and has helped with many other conventions. And he is the sweetest guy ever. Saturday night while I was scarfing down pizza in the green room we got to chat more intimately instead of just doing our jobs together.
There was a moment of bromance that evening when we found a very fertile common-ground in creativity. Our eyes lighting up as we rambled on (mostly me) as some of the only sober people in the room. When the crowd got a little wilder, he kindly let me retreat where the staff was breaking, and I got to speak to the head-staffer and a few others of the staff. David and “Mom” told some great stories and I found respect for their gentle spirits and vigorous work ethics which seemed almost universal in the plethora of people donating their time to making this convention work.
I’m really upset that I had no time to talk with all of them more due to our busy schedules, but I’m thankful for the moment David granted me. It may be impossible for each entertainer to see the entire underbelly of what makes a convention work- there is simply not enough time in a 3 day weekend packed with events- but after that night I’ve never felt so human at one of these things.Y’see my busy schedule at this convention kept me active with the fans- and that is great to be able to get time to spend laughing, hugging, and talking about SPG with them. But for the staff- they’re all doing their jobs and the moments of intimate dialog don’t always happen.
I’m glad I went down to that green room to grab dinner even if my legs and feet were aching from the night before.
Thanks David! I hope you enjoyed the spaghetti- because like I said…WHEN YOU WEAR A BOWTIE IT’S LIKE…WHAT ELSE CAN YOU EAT. Bowtie + Spaghetti = Perfect.
And now you all see it too.
I’m so happy to hear all these wonderful stories from Youma, Bunny. It’s great to know that you had such a positive experience! I have no idea who this guy is, but he’s adorable.
Can’t wait until your next Michigan show! xoxo
